The name has been chosen by the neighbors of Bahía area
The retail scheme that Inter IKEA Centre España is developing in Jerez has now a name: LUZ Shopping has been selected to call this project, the largest of its kind in Andalucia, and which is presently under construction.
The name has been chosen by the future customers of this retail park, who have participated in a survey carried out by the company in the whole area of influence, last November. According to the results, the participants to the survey perceive LUZ Shopping as an outdoor open area, combined with leisure and amusement concepts. In addition LUZ Shopping recalls all the Bahia area warmth and lightness.
The name LUZ Shopping is reinforced with the Inter IKEA Centre Group commercial logo: the Smiling Shopping Bag, the corporate visual identity unique for all the Shopping Centres developed by the Group worldwide. Nowadays Inter IKEA Centre Group has several projects in the Iberian Peninsula: MAR shopping, opened in the Portuguese town of Matosinhos (Porto), Jerez retail scheme currently under construction, and the project of Arroyo de la Encomienda, in Valladolid which has just obtained the commercial license.
With a 200 million Euros investment, Luz Shopping is the largest private commercial initiative developed in Jerez up to the date. It includes a retail park with 105.000 m2, an IKEA store of 36.000 m2 and also 16.000 m2 of outdoor area with smaller shops, restaurants and services.
Inter IKEA Centre Group (IICG) is owned by IKEA Group and Inter IKEA Group. It develops and manages shopping centres and retail parks on a long term basis, always with an IKEA store as a unique anchor. Inter IKEA Centre España (IICE) was constituted in 2006 and is the company responsible for the group projects in Spain and Portugal. Nowadays it has two projects in phase of development in Spain located in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) and Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid), besides Mar Shopping in Matosinhos (Porto).
